For many years I have had a great love of the countryside and its flora and fauna and in 2008 I first became interested in photography. Photographing birds in flight and action is my particular interest and passion. I was delighted to win the Animal Behaviour Category of the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2012 with my photograph of a herring gull plucking a puffin from the ground.
I live in Suffolk which along with the neighbouring county of Norfolk are wonderful birding counties. When I'm not following my passion of photography I also work as an optometrist in hospital and private practice which I thoroughly enjoy. Although the optometry background was useful in providing me with an initial understanding of the optics of photography, I soon discovered that the most important elements in wildlife photography are putting in a lot of time and practice. All of my spare time is spent pursuing this highly enjoyable and addictive hobby along with my partner Richard. I hope that you enjoy looking at the images on this website in the way that I have very much enjoyed taking them.
