About Me

I have always had a great love of the countryside and its flora and fauna. In the summer of 2008, having previously done very little photography, I discovered a place with resident barn owls. So in the evenings I took my camera which had only a basic lens, and attempted to photograph them. Then in the November of that year, I went on a bird photography holiday, and that was it...from that moment on I was hooked on bird photography! I now spend nearly all of my spare time pursuing this highly enjoyable and addictive hobby and have met many wonderful and like-minded people through it. Although I enjoy many areas of wildlife photography, I mostly concentrate on birds. I hope that you enjoy looking at the images on this website in the way that I have very much enjoyed taking them. The website will be updated regularly with new images, so please visit again.

About Me

I live in Suffolk which along with the neighbouring county of Norfolk are wonderful birding counties. I work as an optometrist in both a hospital and private practice, which I thoroughly enjoy. Although the optometry background was useful in providing me with an initial understanding of the optics of photography, I soon discovered that the most important elements in wildlife photography are putting in a lot of time and practice. Action and flight photography are my particular passion, but I am not averse to taking the occasional portrait shot. At weekends and holidays I am fortunate to share my love of bird photography with my boyfriend Richard Bedford, who is also a very enthusiastic bird photographer.

All images on this website are of wild birds and animals.
